Happy and traditional. That's how this turned out.
We started with café shutters.

I'm always a bit surprised how many times I see homeowners install shutters and call it a day.  Maybe its the expense, maybe it's the desire for a nice clean look, but I am constantly on the lookout for a way to inject some style and warmth into a room.

What a difference some printed fabric and colorful trim makes! Especially in a dining room, where there is usually not much to compete with in the fabric area.
You'll also notice that we really didn't block much light with this window treatment, which is a common worry.
