100 Windows - #95

Another day, another cornice board!
I believe these are the largest cornice boards I have every seen.
Beautifully executed and proportioned, you wouldn't think such a strong fabric print would be so restful in a master bedroom.
You can see that the smaller versions were made for either side of the bed.  I believe this fabric may be part of a ready-made line of bedding. So smart to buy yardage of the duvet fabric to cover the cornices.
You could hang a traverse rod up underneath the cornice to draw the curtains at night. Or, if the panels are stationary, the cornice is deep enough to hide a shade that can be pulled down.

100 Windows - #72

This window treatment is a bit of a departure because it is a ready made (gasp!) that I hung in my client's house a few years back.
It was purchased in Paris and perhaps that accounts for it being the nicest ready made I have ever seen!  Even though it WAS unlined.
The fabric was this crazy textile with all kinds of loose metallic threads woven through it.
There were so many custom details to this that I've always wanted to duplicate it.  It is a version of a tab curtain. The front of each tab had a grommet on it. Through the grommet we pinned a sort of brad with a round ball on it.  The brads were purchased with the curtain. Attached to the brad and hanging below the tab was a small tassel. The tabs were made of twill tape.
The top of the curtain was pencil pleated.
And it never hurts to use really gorgeous custom curtain rods!

100 Windows - #68

Now that it is getting colder, I'm already craving the return to warmer weather that is still so far off.
Here's a window treatment to help tide me over.
You get the beach theme by the starfish used as a holdback.  What is more difficult to see is that there are small seashells hand sewn all over this sheer.  I don't know if the drapery panel came this way or if it is a ready-made panel that some DIY'er got ahold of, but I love the idea.  Imagine what small items you could attach to a panel.

100 Windows - #24

Here's an idea for a corner window using the most whimsical fabric!
It's a fun idea if you want to incorporate two different fabrics.  If you are a good seamstress you could even attach the top ruffle, the header, to a ready made panel to customize it.

100 Windows - #14

Sheer loveliness!
Seen in a model home in the tiniest powder room ever (check out the sloping ceiling - this bath was built beneath the stairs that led to the second floor). I also believe this treatment could be made from some ready-made pieces - or one long sheer panel scooped up in the middle -  but love the casualness of the whole thing. You could change the hardware or the fabric if you wanted to fancy it up, but I do think you wouldn't want anything heavy or lined.
Here's a closer look:

100 Windows - #12

Here's a pretty little confection.  It is a ready made curtain panel, meaning you can buy it as is.
This is from a company called Emdee.  While I don't usually suggest you purchase your window coverings ready made, because so many are cheaply made and unlined, in this case you wouldn't want it lined.  I love the sheer extravagance of this curtain, and the way it was installed so the hemline just drips along the floor.
